Cellardyke is one of a number of small fishing villages in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife. This is a fantastic location for a holiday, with award-winning sandy beaches, world class golf courses, full range of water sports, beautiful coastal walks and many other holiday activities close by. There are numerous pubs and eating places in the area, ranging from the famous “Anstruther Chippie” to award winning seafood restaurants. The historic town of St Andrews is only 15 minutes away.
We have a great choice if you want self catering in Anstruther from two properties overlooking the Firth of Forth. In both High Tide and Low Tide the sitting rooms and bedrooms look out over the sea, and when the tide is in, it comes right up to the back garden wall. The shared garden has been landscaped to provide a comfortable sitting area in which to enjoy the views and fresh sea air.
This part of Fife is also ideal for exploring further a field. It is only an hour's drive to Edinburgh, Stirling and Perth. The area is rich in historical interest with several National Trust properties in the vicinity including Falkland Palace, Culross, Kellie Castle and the Hill of Tarvit. There are gorgeous sandy beaches close by and golf in the East Neuk is a major attraction, boasting several highly regarded links courses, a championship course at Kingsbarns and of course the famous Old Course in St Andrews. If golf is not your thing then you will still find many attractions for all the family close by.
Low Tide has an open plan sitting room/kitchen/dining area, double bedroom and bathroom. Electric heating. Off street parking. Sleeps 2.
The views from the back garden can be quite spectacular and with the high garden wall surrounding both sides it can prove to be quite a sun trap, at the same time giving privacy and a well earned relaxing break.
